What We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you request a quote or book a service. This may include:

  • Contact details: Your name, phone number, and email address (if provided)
  • Service details: Pickup and drop-off addresses, service type, preferred date and time, and any notes or instructions you provide
  • Photos: Images you optionally upload to help us quote accurately (e.g. photos of items to be moved or rubbish to be removed)
  • WhatsApp messages: The content of messages exchanged between you and Pickaroo as part of booking and coordinating the service

We do not collect payment card numbers or banking details. Payments are made directly on the day via cash, EFTPOS, or bank transfer โ€” no payment data is stored by Pickaroo.

We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under 18. Our services are directed to adults.

We use the information you provide solely for the purposes of delivering the service you've requested. Specifically:

  • To contact you via WhatsApp, phone, or email to confirm and coordinate your booking
  • To provide you with a quote for the service described

We will only retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services and for basic administrative record-keeping purposes.

How We Store & Protect It

We operate as a small local business and handle personal data accordingly. Customer booking information is managed within our WhatsApp Business account and any operational notes kept securely on the devices used to manage bookings.

Our website form data may be stored in browser localStorage on the device used to submit the form. This is not transmitted to a third-party server. Communication about your booking happens via WhatsApp, which uses end-to-end encryption.

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and disclosure. This includes:

  • Keeping devices used for business communications password-protected and locked
  • Not sharing your personal details with anyone outside of the Pickaroo team
  • Deleting personal information when it is no longer required for our purposes

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

What We Don't Do

Our website does not use tracking cookies or behavioural analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar). We do not build advertising profiles from your visit.

The site may use minimal browser localStorage for form functionality โ€” for example, to preserve form fields if you navigate away and return. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you submit the form.

If we add analytics tools in the future (e.g. to understand which pages are most visited), we will update this policy and provide notice where practicable. Any such tools would be used only for improving the website, not for advertising.

You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser's settings.
